What Is Causing The Mysterious Windsor Hum? Canadian Government Attempts To Find An Explanation

MessageToEagle.com – Strange, loud and very annoying humming sounds have been reported worldwide for decades.

Scientists have presented several theories attempting to explain the origin of the noise, but none of the explanations is adequate and can solve the entire mystery of the phenomenon known as the Hum.

Based on what is known the hum appear to be geographically focused. Cases like the “Bristol Hum”, the “Taos Hum”, or the “Bondi Hum” have been particularly publicized. There are also other places where the hum has been registered.

There are many of reports from people who heard the mysterious sound in Largs, Scotland, Kokomo, Indiana, USA, Vancouver, Brtitish Columbia, Canada, Woodland, County Durkam, England, County Kerry, Ireland, Seattle, Washington, USA, Wellingto, New Zealand,, Pisa, Italy, Guadalajara, Jalsisco, and Colima in Mexico. These are just some examples where the noise has been detected.

Although the Hum is slightly different in each area, there are some common factors: the sound is generally only heard indoors and usually becomes more powerful at night. The sound is also usually restricted to remote, non-urban areas.
It gets weirder: in areas that supposedly have the Hum, only two percent of the population say they can hear it and the “hearers” (or “hummers”) are usually in the 55 to 77-year-old range, according to a 2003 study by acoustical consultant Geoff Leventhall of Surrey, England.
The Hum can best be explained as a persistent and invasive low-frequency humming, rumbling, or droning noise not audible to all people.

Those who hear it or have heard it consider the sound to very scary.
As we previously discussed in our article “Unusual Sounds From Space Reported Worldwide – What Are They? “scientists like Dr.Prof. Elchin Khalilov, a geophysicist specializing in the area of geodynamics and geotectonics, propose that that what people are hearing is only a small fraction of the actual power of these sounds! Dr. Khalilov has analyzed these odd sounds and says that most of their spectrum lies within the infrasound range, which means there is a lot we cannot hear.

They are low-frequency acoustic emissions in the range between 20 and 100 Hz modulated by ultra-low infrasonic waves from 0.1 to 15 Hz.

In geophysics, they are called acoustic-gravity waves; they are formed in the upper atmosphere, at the atmosphere-ionosphere boundary in particular.

The problem is that people have heard this noise from the sky in regions where there were no geological activity and the sound in terms of both the area covered and its power far exceeds those that can be generated by the above-mentioned phenomena.
According to Dr. Khalilov “the source of such powerful and immense manifestation of acoustic-gravity waves must be very large-scale energy processes. These processes include powerful solar flares and huge energy flows generated by them, rushing towards Earth’s surface and destabilizing the magnetosphere, ionosphere and upper atmosphere.

Dr. Khalilov suggests also there is a possibility that the sounds could come from our own planet’s core. The mysterious Windsor Hum has been troubling people for two years in the industrial city, which sits on the Detroit River across the U.S. border from the Motor City.

Professor Colin Novak from the University of Windsor has studied the Hum and he is convinced it’s real.
In February 2013, Professor Novak set up recording station in a woodlot in the western part of the Ontario city in February. It’s a virtual ear, tuned to record the Hum 24/7.

According to CBS News “Novak and a group of fellow scientists and researchers from the University of Windsor and London’s University of Western Ontario received federal funding to study the mysterious noise.

When the sound he’s looking for rises above a certain level it’s registered on the equipment and Novak gets an email.

He said for the last month or so, his inbox has been full.

“Some of the evenings, we may get 30 or 40 emails in a given night, mostly between midnight and about 3:30 a.m.,” Novak said.

That’s enough to convince him the Hum is real.

“We’re in a pretty remote area in the night time. There’s some construction activity happening right now, but at night, there’s not too much out here.… when we’re getting levels as high as we are, there’s definitely some activity,” he said.”

The repost has been submitted to both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Natural Resources Canada.

Professor Novak says that a scientific study of the Windsor Hum has been submitted in January, 2014 and the report is currently being reviewed by both ministries.

“A spokesperson for Windsor West NDP MP Brian Masse, who has been keeping tabs on the issue, said the two ministries have additional questions and are seeking clarifications on some points.

Masse’s spokesperson said officials are trying to arrange a meeting between the ministries and researchers, including Novak and the University of Western Ontario’s Peter Brown.

Masse wasn’t available for comment Wednesday but a spokesperson said the federal government needs to make the report public.

In 2012, a different federal study suggested the hum may originate from the U.S. side of the Detroit River, in the general area of Zug Island, an area of concentrated steel production and manufacturing in River Rouge, Mich.

Zug Island is directly across from the western edge of Windsor.

The mayor of River Rouge said at that time that his city doesn’t have the funds to investigate further,” CBS News reports.

What will happen with the Windsor Hum report? Will the Canadian government solve the mystery of the hum this time?

Not so long ago, the Hum phenomenon was quickly dismissed and researchers said the noise was simply unreal, today it is studied by the scientific community and the government.
