Two Arrested For Approaching Area 51 – Government Has Banned Flights Above The Military Installation

Cynthia McKanzie – MessageToEagle.com – The plan to storm Area 51 has not died out completely. Though the viral Storm Area 51 raid has been canceled, alien fans are still having an official Area 51 celebration in Las Vegas.

As previously reported what started as a joke on Facebook has now become a concerning issue.  Thousands want to storm Area 51 and Nevada has signed a declaration of emergency.

Millions of people are convinced crashed extraterrestrial saucers are being kept hidden at the military base Area 51. Many think scientists there have secretly experimented with alien technology and the military is now in possession of reversed engineered alien flying craft.

As of Tuesday morning, over 2.1 million people said they were “attending” the event, called “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us.” The event is scheduled for Sept. 20 at 3 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time.

In addition to the Facebook event, two music festivals are planned: one in Rachel, Nevada, and another in downtown Las Vegas.

Area 51, a restricted military facility in Nevada and its personnel do not approve of intruders. “It’s a military base – they aren’t screwing around, they will use lethal force,” Varlin Higbee, Lincoln County Commission Chairman said. “It’s not a joke. You don’t just storm a facility.”

The United States Air Force is aware of the situation. Air Force spokesperson Laura McAndrews told ABC News in a statement. “The Nevada Test and Training Range is an area where the Air Force tests and trains combat aircraft. As a matter of practice, we do not discuss specific security measures, but any attempt to illegally access military installations or military training areas is dangerous.”

Two Dutchmen have already been arrested and jailed when they tried getting near Area 51.

According to CNN, “they just wanted a good look at the mysterious Area 51 before leaving the US, but they ended up in a Nevada jail, instead.

Ties Granzier, 20, and Govert Charles Wilhelmus Jacob Sweep, 21, were arrested about three miles deep into the Nevada National Security Site, the Nye County Sheriff’s Office said.”

The two men say they had no intentions of participating in the planned storming of Area 51.

“”We didn’t have any intention to storm it because we leave on day before the actual storming dates, and we just wanted… to go there,” Sweep told CNN affiliate KTNV. They just wanted to get a good view of it, he said.

When arrested September 10, both men told deputies they could read, write and speak English and had seen the ‘No Trespassing’ signs at the entrance of the site. But they said they wanted to take a look at the facility, police said.

Granzier told authorities he is a YouTuber. Deputies found cameras, a phone, a laptop and a drone in the men’s vehicle. The two pleaded guilty to trespassing and illegal parking.”

The two men say they had not seen the ‘no trespassing’ signs but “wanted to look at the facility”.

Preparing for the worst-case scenario the government has now banned flights above Area 51 this weekend.

The FAA sends unclassified notices to airmen (NOTAM) to warn pilots of potential hazards along flight routes that could jeopardize the safety of their flights. Earlier this week, the FAA issued two NOTAMs banning all aircraft from flying above the areas south and west of Rachel, Nevada, near the Nevada Test and Training Range, a military training area used by the U.S. Air Force. The bans run from Wednesday, September 18 to Monday, September 23.

The Federal Aviation (FAA) says the temporary flight restrictions are for “special security reasons.”

No pilots can operate aircraft in the affected areas—the exact coordinates of which are listed in the NOTAMs—except aircraft working in support of the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Mission.
