In many parts of the world there are enormous monoliths that even in this brilliant era of technology no advanced crane could possible raise.
Our modern society is proud of its technological and scientific achievements, but we are forced to admit that our ancestors possessed unique knowledge we still
cannot gain access to. This brings us to the intriguing question: "Did ancients master levitation?"
Could levitation explain how gigantic stones were lifted in prehistoric times? To some people this idea might sound preposterous, but open-minded readers are
fully aware of that our ancestors were much more advanced than orthodox history scholars are willing to admit.
So, why is taking control of gravity so important?
As many already know, the most powerful known force is the energy locked within the atom. Based on our current knowledge, electromagnetic force is 100 times weaker
than nuclear energy. Yet, gravitational force is quadrillions of times weaker than electricity or magnetism.
Isn't it ironic that the weakest force known to exist is also the most difficult one to master because we possess so little knowledge about it?
If our modern society discovered a way to master gravity, the world we live in would change dramatically and life would be completely transformed.
Objects would become weightless. Houses could float in the air, and people could fly like birds. This would also have highly beneficial to space agencies as
billions could be saved if anti-gravity was discovered.
But let us now leave the problems of the modern world and return back to the past.
In Baalbek, there is a gigantic slab left in the quarry at the foot of the Baalbek Terrace. This enormous monolith is 2.1 meters long, 4.8 meters wide and
4.2 meters deep. To say this stone is large is an understatement. Modern cranes cannot lift this ancient giant stone.
In fact, it would require 40,000
workers in order to move this huge mass!
So, how did the ancients lift it?
Perhaps the clue to this ancient mystery can be found in an old book called Chaldean Magic written by Francois Lemormant.
The book contains magical practices, religious system and mythology of the Chaldeans of ancient Assyria.
In this book Lemormant states that ancient Babylonian priests used sounds to raise heavy rocks in the air. The rocks were so heavy that even a thousand
men could not lift them.
Sound levitation is also confirmed in Babylonian tablets.
World-wide we encounter sacred scripts and holy books that relate what effects sound waves had on ancient walls. In Coptic writings we find the process by
which blocks for the pyramids were elevated by the sound of chanting.
However, since modern science has been unable to find a connection between sound and weightlessness, these stories have been dismissed as pure ancient
fantasies. Yet, we still cannot explain by which means these stones were lifted. The time has come to cast of our ignorance and gracefully accept that our
ancestors were our ancestors knew more about the powerful forces of the Universe than we currently do.
The phenomenon of weightlessness is no mystery anymore. We have seen our own eyes that astronauts experience it in space. Surely, there must also be a
scientific explanation for the fact that objects were shielded from the force of earthly gravity in ancient times.
Simon the Magus was well-knonw for his levitating powers.
Not only object possessed the ability to float in the air. There are many stories of people who could levitate. One such person was Simon the Magus,
a 1st century philosopher. Early priests could not attribute this unexplained ability to any known earthly force. They simply stated that the
"spirit of the air" helped him to raise himself high in the air. Although Christian historians could not explain were not sure of the source of Simon's powers,
the power of levitation was nevertheless attributed to him. It is also said that he could made "statues lose their weight and glide in the air." It is interesting
to note that the Catholic Church lists some two hundred saints who were alleged to have conquered the force of gravity. Scientists should think twice before
dismissing these stories just because they come from religious sources.
Levitating stone of Shivapur.
Interestingly, antigravity demonstrations still take place in the modern world. This once an ancient practice, can still be observed in some parts of the
world. In Shivapur for example, a small village in the state of Maharashtra about 180 kilometers east of Mumbai in Western India there is a mosque dedicated to
the Sufi saint Qamar Ali Dervish. In front the building there is a huge granite boulder weighing about 200 kilograms. According to an ancient legend, Qamar Ali
was a famous Sufi Saint and was known for his miracles. On his deathbed, he said: "If eleven men place their right index fingers under the stone and then jointly
call my name, I will cause it to rise higher than their heads. Otherwise, neither singly nor together will they be able to move it more than two feet off the ground."
Now, curiously this also what happens, when 11 people place their right index fingers under the stone and jointly call the name Qamar Ali Darvesh, the stone
flies up in the air, rises higher than their heads. There is still no scientific explanation for how or why this happens.
We have every reason to take the ancients accounts of antigravity seriously and try to gain more insight into what kind of unique knowledge our ancestors possessed.
