‘Patomskiy Crater’: ‘Fire Eagle Nest’: A Mysterious Anomalous Structure
A. Sutherland – MessageToEagle.com – Scientists studying a mysterious crater-like structure call it “Patomskiy crater”, after the river in the watershed of which it was located.
Yakuts, the local people who live in the Republic of Sakha, in Russia call it “Fire Eagle Nest”.
Is the “Patomskiy crater”, a natural formation, which doesn’t resemble anything we know or is it an artificial structure?
It was discovered by Irkutsk geologist Vadim Kolpakov when he went on an expedition to Siberia’s deep unexplored Siberian taiga in summer 1949.
“Patomskiy crater” has the size of a 25-story building – looks like a huge convex truncated cone with an upper horizontal section. Inside it, there is a funnel-shaped recess with a dome-shaped hill right in the middle.

The cone is rather big. Its height is about 10-15 meters from the upper side and 70-80 meters from the bottom side. The average diameter of the cone is about 130-150 meters and the depth of the inner circular ditch is approximately 8-10 meters.
In the fair-weather the crater is perfectly seen from the height. It really resembles a huge eagle’s nest with an egg inside. The diameter of that egg is almost 40 meters.
Since the discovery of the crater, there have been many theories as to what (or who) could have created it, from secret Gulag’s mines to a spontaneous nuclear explosion of uranium ore.
From afar the object resembles a gigantic slag heap but there were no people so deeply in the taiga who could make it. Besides, the Yakuts or the local Evenks had never been able to build such a structure.
The locals have always avoided the “Fire Eagle Nest” and its surroundings because people feel unwell near it. It’s an evil place, avoided even by the animals.
People who found themselves in the vicinity of the Patomsky crater experience similar symptoms as those who have visited the mysterious Arkaim that still remains a scientific enigma and anomalous zone.
People often start to feel not well in the area, reporting unexplainable psychic tension and disturbances in blood pressure, body temperature and changes in heart beating rhythm.
What is the “Patomsky crater” or as the Yakuts call it: “Fire Eagle Nest”? No volcanoes have been found in the area for at least a few million years.
