Mind-Blowing View: Total Lunar Eclipse Looks Like From The Moon – Video From NASA

MessageToEagle.com – There is just one cosmic occurrence that could create this apparently red ring of fire around Earth, as pictured below.

The answer is simple: A total lunar eclipse as seen from moon, just like the one happening this month on Sept. 27.

In the US, Canada, and Central and South America, this rare Total Lunar Eclipse of a Supermoon will begin on the evening of September 27, 2015. In Europe, South/East Asia, Africa, the Arctic, and in the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans it starts after midnight on September 28, 2015.

Also called a Blood Moon this eclipse will last for about 1 hour and 12 minutes.

So what this red ring actually is and why it’s vital. Thanks to this beautiful video by NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio, you can witness what this month’s total lunar eclipse will appear as seen from moon.

Who will see this month's total lunar eclipse?
This map shows the parts of the world from which the total lunar eclipse is visible. The timing favors the Americas — especially the eastern parts. Because an eclipsed Moon is always full, the Moon sets (or rises) at almost the same time the Sun rises (or sets) on the opposite horizon. Sky & Telescope diagram

If there were human camps on the moon, this would be their form of a total solar eclipse. The variance is just that as an alternative of the moon eclipsing the sun, it’s the Earth eclipsing the sun.

The red circle shown around the Earth is the atmosphere’s light-bending in action. So check out this awesome video below:

Solar eclipses were historically viewed as omens that bring about death and destruction and people in many ancient civilizations tried their best to understand and predict them.
